East African Civil Aviation Academy is looking for determined Chief Flying Instructor to join the team at the Academy in Soroti Uganda.

REPORTS TO: Head of Training- Pilot Training SUPERVISES: Principal Flying Instructor
To supervise Flight Instructors and for the standardization of all flight instruction in the flying school.
i) May offer training sessions to pilot cadets where need arises as per the privileges and limitations of the flight instructor rating held.
ii) Co-ordinate all flight and simulation training activities in the flying school.
iii) May assume the function and administrative head of the department/school
iv) Checking the effectiveness of instructional teaching technique and devise ways of improving training effectiveness.
v) Advices the Head of Training and director on policy matters when the need arises.
vi) Organizing and supervising training programs for flight Instructor-in-training
vii) Maintaining appropriate liaison with other Schools, Departments within the Academy.
viii) Carries out performance Appraisals on all flight instructors
ix) Carries out competence /proficiency evaluations on all flight instructors
x) Carries out training need assessment on all flight instructors and plans for training accordingly.
xi) Prepares and approves the departmental/school budget.
xii) Prepares and approves departmental/school procurement plans
xiii) Assists in the student Admission process.
xiv) Attends management meetings as required
xv) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
i) A degree pilot training or any related or its equivalent from a recognised University/Institution
ii) Must have a Commercial pilot licence with an instrument/multi and flight Instructor rating and has logged a minimum of 2000 hours.
iii) Has experience of 1200 instructional hours
iv) Worked for three years as a principal flight instructor in an Approved Training organisation in government or possess equivalent level of experience in a recognized organisation.
v) Must be rated on all of the Aircraft being used for training.
vi) Must have an unrestricted flight instructor rating
vii) Holding an Airline pilot licence is added advantage
i) Must have knowledge of basic computer applications;
ii) Should have supervisory and managerial skills;
iii) Must have good instructional/teaching skills;
iv) Must have human factors knowledge relevant to flight instruction;
v) Must Have knowledge in safety and Quality management systems
vi) Must have a good understanding of human nature and possess capability to work with other people; and
vii) Must have a good record of personal integrity.
