The Information Scientist is responsible for the following functions:

  • To identify priority areas for information collection, processing and management;
  • To advise on policy issues relating to information gathering and dissemination;
  • To gather management information and documentation;
  • To collate, process and analyse all Ministry information and documentation;
  • To develop and maintain a data bank of reliable and authentic Management and other information required by the Ministry and the Public;
  • To organize and maintain a Ministry reference library containing all Ministry publications;
  • To periodically produce key information management in form of pamphlets, reports and other identified forms of end - used requirements;
  • To work as the first point of call for all the routine public inquiries;
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors.
