JOB TITLE: SENIOR AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (01 Vacancy)
Salary Scale : Uganda Government Scale U3
Reports to : Principal Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Supervises : Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Terms of Service : Permanent and Pensionable or a Renewable Contract for 36 Months.
A. Job Purpose:
To ensure proper maintenance of all training aircraft, equipment and facilities.

B. Duties:
The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will assist the Principal Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in performing the following duties;
i) Inspecting aircraft, hangar and workshops;
ii) Determining and quantifying of spares and equipment requirements;
iii) Assisting the Chief Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in determining maintenance standards in consultation with the Civil Aviation Authority;
iv) Reviewing and evaluating the maintenance schedules and programs of the Academy; and
v) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

C. Person Specifications:
Applicants must be Ugandans by nationality with:
1. ‘A’ Level Certificate of Education with at least two principal passes in science subjects with a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence Category either A, C, A and C or X (Radio, Compasses or Instruments).
2. Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Diploma on Jet Aircraft/in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering may be of added advantage.

D. Competencies:
i) Should be knowledgeable on both Single and Twin Engine aircraft, with Avionics engineering experience;
ii) Must have human factors and safety management systems knowledge relevant to Aviation Maintenance Organizations;
iii) Should have supervisory skills;
iv) Must have knowledge in computer applications.

E. Experience:
The incumbent should have at least three (3) years working experience in the relevant field.


JOB TITLE : SENIOR FLYING INSTRUCTOR (02 Vacancy)
Salary Scale: U3
Report to: Principal Flying Instructor.
Supervises: Flying Instructors
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable or a Renewable Contract for 36 Months.
A. Job Purpose:
To conduct professional flight and ground instructions of cadet pilots and manage the assets and resources of the Academy.

B. Duties:
i) Supervises Flying Instructors;
ii) Prepares training programs and organizes training for Flying School personnel;
iii) Supervises pilot students on Twin Engine aircraft for Instrument Rating; and
iv) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

C. Person Specifications:
Applicants must be Ugandans by nationality with:
i) An Airline Transport Pilot License or a Commercial Pilots’ License with Instrument Rating and frozen Airline Transport Pilot License plus a Flight Instructor Rating.
ii) A Bachelor of Science Degree in an aviation discipline may be of added advantage.

D. Competencies:
i. Good instructional skills;
ii. Good understanding of Aviation Human Factors and Safety Management Systems relevant to flight training;
iii. Possess sound supervisory skills;
ii) Good interpersonal and communication skills;
iii) Must have knowledge of computer applications;
iv) Extensive knowledge of flight training and assessment of trainees; and
v) Must have a good record of personal integrity.

E. Experience:
i) The incumbent should have at least three (3) years working experience as a flying instructor;
ii) The Incumbent should have a minimum of 1,000 (one thousand) flying hours, of which 400 (four hundred) should have been obtained as Flying Instructor.


JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEERING INSTRUCTOR(02 Vacancies)
Salary Scale : U3
Report to : Principal Engineering Instructor
Supervises : Engineering Instructors and Technical Assistants
Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable or a Renewable Contract for 36 Months.
A. Job Purpose:
To impart knowledge to students and manage the resources and assets of the Engineering Training School.

B. Duties:
i) Preparing of training programs for Engineering School Students;
ii) Organizing local training for Engineering School Students;
iii) Conducting theoretical instructions to students according to the syllabus for the courses and developing course plans and program reviews; setting and marking student’s tests and examinations, and guiding and supervising the students’ practical training.
iv) Supervising Engineering Instructors;
v) Assisting in preparing and conducting written and oral examinations;
vi) Instructing students; and
vii) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

C. Person Specifications:
Applicants must be Ugandans by nationality with:
i) A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s licence for Airframes and Engines, and a Diploma in ICAO Type 2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course.
ii) A Degree in any field of Aircraft Engineering may be of added advantage.
iii) A certificate in instruction techniques.

D. Competencies: i) Must have knowledge on both single and twin engine aircraft;
ii) Must have knowledge of computer applications.
iii) Should have supervisory skills; and
iv) Must have human factors and safety management system knowledge relevant to engineering instruction.

E. Experience:
Must have worked as an Engineering Instructor or in an equivalent position for a minimum of 5 years or as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for a minimum of 10 years.


JOB TITLE : PRINCIPAL GROUND INSTRUCTOR (01 Vacancy)
Salary Scale : U2
Report to : Chief Ground Instructor.
Supervises : Senior Ground Instructor
Terms of Service : Permanent and Pensionable or a Renewable Contract for 36 Months.
A. Job Purpose:
To impart knowledge to students and manage the resources and assets of the Ground Instruction School

B. Duties:
i) Assist the Chief Ground Instructor in designing and developing programs of instruction;
ii) Supervise and control the Senior Ground Instructors;
iii) Interpret and enforce training procedures in compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations as applicable;
iv) Set and review ground school examinations; and
v) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

C. Person Specifications: Applicants must be Ugandans by Nationality with:
i) Hold or have held a Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating and frozen Airline Transport Pilot License;
ii) A Bachelor’s Degree in Education may be of added advantage.

D. Competencies:
i) Must have knowledge of computer applications;
ii) Should have supervisory skills;
iii) Must have an instruction techniques certificate with good instructional skills;
iv) Must have human factors and safety management system knowledge relevant to ground school instruction;

E. Experience:
The incumbent should have at least six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which as a Senior Instructor in a reputable organisation.

JOB TITLE : SENIOR GROUND INSTRUCTOR (02 Vacancies)
Salary Scale : U3
Age limit : 25 years and above.
Report to : Principal Ground Instructor.
Terms of Service : Permanent and Pensionable or a Renewable Contract for 36 Months.
A. Job Purpose:
To impart knowledge to students and manage the resources and assets of the Pilots Training School.

B. Duties:
i) Prepares training programs for Ground School personnel;
ii) Organizes local training for Ground School personnel;
iii) Supervises and controls Ground School Instructors;
iv) Instructs students;
v) Assists in preparing and conducting written and oral examinations; and
vi) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

C. Person Specifications:
Applicants must be Ugandans by nationality:
Holding or have held a Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating and frozen Airline Transport Pilot License;

D. Competencies:
i) Must have knowledge of computer applications;
ii) Should have supervisory skills;
iii) Must have an instruction techniques certificate with good instructional skills;
iv) Must have human factors and safety management system knowledge relevant to ground school instruction;

E. Experience:
The incumbent should have at least three (3) years working experience in the relevant field in a recognized Institution.
